Involving patients and the public

Patients, and their families and carers, are the best people to tell us how a condition or medicine affects them, or the person they care for.

We ask for patients’ views when we assess whether to recommend a new medicine for use in NHS Wales. We also encourage patients to take part in our consultations on medicines resources.

We set up our Patient and Public Interest Group (PAPIG) to involve patients, carers and patient organisations in our work. PAPIG members meet four times a year and their input and feedback is vital.

Find out how to get involved in our work, and how to join PAPIG, in our Get involved - patients and public section.
