In a new look All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) annual report, read an overview of 2019-2020 as AWMSG embarks on a new chapter.
In July 2019, Professor Ceri Phillips was appointed Chair of AWMSG to lead the way as the group works towards meeting the three key objectives set by the Minister for Health and Social Services. Not only has the AWMSG annual report been given a new look, the 2019-2020 report outlines a vision that focuses on patients by delivering better outcomes, improving medication safety and supporting the delivery of value-based healthcare.

From a review of AWMSG’s five-year strategy to key milestones during 2019-2020, the latest report gives an overview of how AWMSG continues to support prudent prescribing to obtain the best outcomes from medicines for patients in Wales.
The year 2019-2020 also saw the launch of the new AWMSG website, with the design focused around relevant content, responsive features and clear site navigation. AWMSG also remained committed to fully supporting Welsh Government’s Welsh language agenda and the All Wales Patient Access Scheme project team went on to recoup 97% of the missed savings for NHS Wales.
